Order By December 31, 2014 – Save Money

December 5th, 2014 by Jacki

Victor's lavender Order Form
Here’s a heads up for all of you who will be placing lavender orders for next year. If you order by December 31st you will save some money. Plant prices will be going up on January 1st. Not that we wanted to raise our prices but you all know that story. The cost of materials to blend the soil, trays and pots, utilities to heat the greenhouses – just everything has gone up so much that we just can’t absorb those additional expenses again this coming year. We hope you will give us a few points for not increasing prices for the last 3 or 4 years. We are also offing a wholesale discount structure for your orders.

2% discount on orders of $2,000.00 – $4,999.00
5% for orders of $5,000.00 – $9,999.00
10% on orders of $10,000.00 or more.

We will also begin using a new order form at the first of the year. It will be a PDF Fill In form with a slightly new look. You can download this form and fill it in on your computer. This will help us tremendously because – let’s face it – not everybody has perfect penmanship. We sometimes have difficulty deciphering names, addresses, phone numbers, all the important stuff necessary to get your lavender plants delivered safely to  your door. We do hope that you will use this new feature. For now, submitting your orders will be the same as before. Download, fill it out, and then you can scan it and return it to us via email to info@victorslavender.com or you can fax it to us at 360 683-7830. And of course there’s still the snail mail option by mailing it to us at PO Box 2293, Sequim, WA 98382. There is some additional information required on this new form so please fill it out completely. Please note that Washington State residents must provide a Resellers Permit number and expiration date or we will add sales tax to that order. And hey, we made it easy for you by including a spot on the order form.

We are looking forward to providing all your lavender needs this coming season. You can be assured that you will be receiving the highest quality plants grown and backed by one of the country’s premier lavender growers.

Have we got lavender for you!

Our greenhouses are full to the brim once again with lavender plants waiting to make their home in your field or garden next spring. After our unexpected sell out last season we are really happy to see the greenhouses full again. We try to increase our plant production every year to accommodate the growing popularity of  lavender. Last year we maxed out our space as well as any vacant greenhouses we could find to meet the demand but it still just wasn’t quite enough. This year we are building another greenhouse here at the farm that will enable us to meet the ever increasing demand for lavender. Let’s hear it for the Lavender Industry!

If you are planning on planting in the spring – don’t wait to order. Get your orders in now so we can plan our propagation needs and guarantee that you will get the varieties you want.

If you are new to the business of lavender or you are thinking about starting a lavender farm now is a good time to contact us for a consultation. Learn from one of the countries top lavender experts. Victor can help you with any questions or concerns you might have. He will get you pointed in the right direction to produce your own thriving, healthy lavender plants.

Lavender Alert!

February 26th, 2014 by victor

Angustifolia

Well here it is – we’ve got some good news and we’ve got some bad news. First for the good news – We still have plenty of the best and most reliable  lavender varieties available for spring planting. We have Grosso, Royal Velvet, Folgate and Provence. The bad news – we are totally sold out of all other varieties. All of our field stock for these other varieties is gone. Those of you who placed early preseason orders will be fine. In fact we should have enough to cover all of our preseason orders so not to worry. Your plants are warming their toes in the greenhouse right now. We will have all the varieties available again by fall but probably not much before that unless we can find another source of cuttings for propagation. It never hurts to ask though. Perhaps someone will change an order making a flat or two of these other varieties available. Please call first to check on availability. We do hope Mother Nature begins to cooperate soon. Some of you have had a pretty rough winter and are probably more than ready for some signs of spring to show up. What better way to cheer yourself up than with some nice lavender plants!

Remember – Next year – Get your orders in early!

Lavender Growers – Now is the Time to Order – SAVE 10%

September 24th, 2012 by victor

Plant Trays Ready to Ship

For the next few months I will be propagating lavender for planting next spring. For those of you who plan ahead (as we all swear we will do) now is the time to place your order for next spring shipment. This helps in two ways, one – you don’t have to think about it again, and two – I know what to grow so that everyone will have the varieties and quantities they need when it is time to plant. Doesn’t that sound like a great plan. I would hate to disappoint anyone by not having the variety or quantity they are looking for when planting time rolls around. Placing your pre-season order now guarantees that your plants will be ready when you are. As an added bonus if you order before December 31, 2012 you will receive a 10% discount on your plants.

Minimum order is two trays which, coincidentally, fit very securely in our shipping boxes. (How clever is that?) The plant trays are bundled and packaged to arrive safely at your door.

Ready to Label and Ship

To place your order, download the order form on our website, fill it out and fax it to us at 360 683-7830 or you can email us with your request. Please be sure to print clearly on your form as faxes tend to get a little fuzzy sometimes. If you don’t see a particular variety on the order form give us a call. We may have it or will find it for you.

So, all you wholesale growers, let’s sleep a little easier this winter. Place your orders now.

Spanish Lavender (Lavendula Stoechas)

August 21st, 2012 by victor

Spanish Lavender – Alba

Don’t miss this opportunity to reserve these unique varieties as quantities are limited. We are taking orders now for Spring shipment.

 Spanish Lavender – Alba

This is a great white flowering variety from the Spanish Lavender family. It’s compact size, 2′ high and wide, will make a perfect addition to your garden. Awesome in a Moon Garden or as an accent plant anywhere in your landscape. This prolific bloomer will delight you from spring to fall if the first bloom is sheared off when the blossoms are spent. This will encourage a second bloom lasting into the fall.

Spanish Lavender – Bella

Spanish Lavender – Bella

This evergreen shrub, sometimes referred to as Rabbit or Bunny Ears, is a pinkish to purple variety of the Lavendula Stoechas family which will be sure to delight any gardener. These plants are grown mainly for their aesthetic value and make stunning accent plants. As with Alba, the bloom time can be extended by shearing after the first bloom.

These hardy plants are eyecatching in any location. Your customers will love them. Place your orders now to guarantee Spring Shipment.

Commercial Lavender Growers – Planting time is here.

April 22nd, 2012 by victor

Two and a half Inch Pot

Commercial Planting Season is Upon Us.

If you are a commercial grower now is the best time to be planting your new crops. April in the warmer zones and May in the cooler areas. Avoid planting if temperatures will remain in the 80’s.  Always start with healthy, well established plants at a minimum size of a 2 1/2″ pot. I don’t recommend planting plugs directly in the ground as the roots are not yet established. If you are buying plugs, transplant them to  2 1/2″ pots. They will need at least 4-6 weeks to develop a root system strong enough to support them in the ground. I also recommend that you keep all the flowers cut off for the first year. This will allow the plant to send it’s energy into building a stronger root system and healthier plant. Be patient, you will see your efforts pay off next year with a crop of strong, beautiful plants with plenty of flowers.

If you’re not growing commercially – you just plain love lavender and want a couple plants to brighten up your garden, to cook with or to dry – not to worry – you’ve still got some time. Start with a minimum 4″ plant or better yet, the gallon size.

Find Folgate At Victor's Lavender Farm Beginning in April

A tiny bush that packs a big wallop. This variety of English lavender is one of the best oil producers and is considered the best for producing high-yield crops for culinary uses, etc. Folgate is a tiny bush with narrow, small leaves and a sweet aroma. If you like cooking with lavender or enjoy the sweet smell in potpourri and sachets you will love this plant. Ever thought about Lavender Latte? Or Tea? How about Lavender Ice Cream. The possibilities are limited only by your imagination. Plant some in your garden and see for yourself.
