Acres and acres of Lavender at the Farm

Visit Victor’s Lavender Farm throughout the summer and during the Sequim Lavender Weekend.

Wander back behind the store entrance and explore acres of inviting lavender fields, drying barns filled to the rafters with over 8,000 freshly cut bundles of fragrant lavender, the finest u-cut lavender in the valley, retail store shelves filled with one-of-a-kind lavender products, workshops on growing and using lavender, and more. This is the place to relax, get away from all of the vendors and get some great food (everything has lavender): Uli’s special bratwurst, biscotti, shortbread, ice cream, and lemonade!

Susan Harrington to Present Lavender Workshops

Lavender expert Susan Harrington will be presenting a workshop, Lavender is More Than a Color, at Victor’s Lavender Farm on Saturday July 18 from 11:30am-1pm, and 2:30pm-4pm as part of Sequim Lavender Weekend.

Harrington-Susan-L-300x300Retiring after 20 years in business management, Susan Harrington reclaimed a backyard overrun with Scotch broom and blackberries to grow a successful small-scale lavender business that has broadened into an online educational resource. Via the Internet, she took Labyrinth Hill Lavender from the Kingston Farmers Market to the New York City Ballet and throughout the country. Her workshop, “Lavender: From Soil to Sachet,” has been presented at Washington and Oregon community colleges and nurseries and is now a popular online course with students throughout the U.S. as well as 12 countries. More than 4,000 readers around the world enjoy Susan’s informative monthly newsletter, Of Labyrinths, Lavender and Love. She is a founding member of the United States Lavender Growers Association, a member of the Garden Writers Association, and a popular speaker for area garden clubs and the NW Flower and Garden Show. She was a featured speaker for the 2011 and 2015 Northwest Regional Lavender Conference, the 2012 Western Nevada College Specialty Crop Institute, and the 2012 Southwest Lavender Conference.

Spend Sequim Lavender Weekend, July 17-19 at Victor’s Lavender Farm. Victor will be here at the farm all weekend. When not conducting workshops you’ll be able to find him wandering the fields and chatting with visitors. A great opportunity to meet one of the nations foremost lavender experts. Along with Victor’s workshops (outlined below), Susan Harrington, CEO (Chief Education Officer as she likes to call it) of Labyrinth Hill Lavender will be joining us on Saturday and conducting a couple of workshops we know you will want to attend. Keep reading and we’ll tell you more about Susan.

Extended weekend hours Friday-Sunday 9am-6pm

Workshops

Susan’s workshops will be in the drying barn and Victor’s workshops will be out in the lavender field.

Friday, July 17
Noon-1:30 p.m.  and  4-5:30 p.m.
          Victor: propagation, transplanting, winter care, plant rotation
Saturday, July 18
10-11:30 a.m.  and  1-2:30 p.m.
          Victor: pests, diseases, fertilization.
11:30 a.m.-1 p.m.  and  2:30-4 p.m.
          Susan Harrington: Lavender is more than a color
Sunday, July 19
Noon-1:30 p.m. and 4-5:30 p.m.
          Victor: propagation, planting, fertilization.

On the Menu

• Seattle’s World Famous Uli’s Lavender Sausages, Lavender shortbread cookies
and biscotti.

Pets

Your dogs are welcome on the farm as long as they are on a leash. Please clean-up after your dogs.

Visit the Drying Barn

One of the unique and amazing place to visit is the drying barn where you can see and smell more than 8,000 bundles of lavender, freshly cut from the fields. The hot weather has meant an early harvest for lavender. Also in the drying barn is a continually running slide show of Victor, his worldwide travels and experiences. (and Susan Harrington’s workshops).
